| Résumé : | After 2005, Before 2012 surveys the works of Sarah Lucas over six prolific years and was published to accompany Lucas’ show, SITUATION CLASSIC PERVERY, a yearlong project space SITUATION held at 4 New Burlington Place, London, above Sadie Coles HQ’s previous gallery space.
It is a product of a collaboration between Lucas and creative director Olu Michael Odukoya and contains black and white photographs of her work and occasional colour image which trace the development of several important bodies of work from the Penetralia series begun in 2008 – a series of totemic sculptures responding to the landscape of Suffolk – to the NUDS sculpture series, consisting of nylon tights stuffed with fluff and fashioned into ambiguous biomorphic forms.
This publication also includes short interviews between Lucas and curators, writers, artists and friends who have closely followed her career. By tuns incisive, comic and poignant, these exchanges combine into unprecedented insight into her art and life. A lyrical essay by Angus Fairhurst (1966-2008) written about Lucas in 1995 serves as an epilogue. (résumé éditeur) | Artistes : | LUCAS, Sarah |
